Make sure you're healthy, well-rested, hydrated and have eaten a full meal beforehand. If you have a long session ahead of you, bring some food and water with you.
We also advise bringing something sweet with you, to support your circulation.
Our studio offers water, tea and other various complementary beverages.
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing or bring a change of clothes that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
Tattoo ink and stencils can stain bright clothing, so we recommend wearing dark clothes or clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.
Here are some recommendations based on certain tattoo placements:
If your tattoo position is on your leg, we recommend wearing loose, stretchy pants or preferably loose shorts or a loose skirt
If your tattoo position is around your ankle, we recommend not wearing socks that are too tight that could leave any marks on your skin
If your tattoo position is on your back and you cannot be topless, we recommend wearing a backless top or bringing a button-up shirt or a zip up sweatjacket that we can then place on you backwards to have the opening on the back.
If your tattoo position is around your chest and/ or beneath your bra, we recommend not wearing the bra for at least one hour before tattooing, so there are no marks left on your skin. We can also provide nipple patches, if needed.
If your tattoo position is around your hip, we recommend wearing a bikini bottom that can be tied on the sides. Alternatively, you can also wear an adhesive "C-String".
If you are getting a backpiece or body suit, we can provide you with a disposable "Irezumi Thong".
Moisturize the area for a few days before your appointment, but avoid applying lotion on the day of.
If possible, we always prefer that you shave the area, where you will be getting the tattoo, yourself before your appointment. Any areas that were missed or still need to be shaved will be done here at the studio by our artist.
If you are concerned about skin irritation, you can also shave the area the night before and then use a soothing moisturizer to give the skin time to calm down beforehand.
However, the moisturizer should be washed off again the next morning so that your skin is clean for the appointment.
